Benjamin Raeder wurde am 24.03.1980 in der Charité in Ostberlin geboren. Er erlebte ein glückliche, katholisch-sozialistisch geprägte Kindheit voller Nächstenliebe und endlosen Wanderungen durch sämtliche Mittelgebirge der Bruderstaaten. Als die Mauer fiel, war er neun Jahre alt und hatte bis dahin nie Probleme mit dem System. Zunächst besuchte er das Lessing-Gymnasium im Wedding und bekam dann Probleme mit dem System, wechselte die Schule aber in gechilltere Gefilde nach Berlin-Mitte ans John-Lennon-Gymnasium, wo er sein Abitur machte. Nach dem Zivildienst machte er ersten Kontakt mit der Filmindustrie. Er sammelte Erfahrungen im Kameradepartement am Set, in Praktika beim Technikverleih Cinelicht und den Geyer-Kopierwerken, arbeitete als Kameraassistent und studierte Kinematografie an der HFF "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam Babelsberg, wo er 2013 als Diplom-Kameramann abschloss. Benjamin arbeitet sowohl im Dokumentar- und Spielfilm, als auch im Musikvideo - und Werbebereich. Er lebt zur Zeit mit seiner Frau und zwei Kindern in Berlin.

Benjamin Raeder was born on March 24, 1980 in the Charité hospital in East Berlin. He experienced a happy, Catholic-socialist childhood full of charity and endless hikes through all the low mountain ranges of the brother states. He was nine years old when the Wall came down and had never had any problems with the system until then. He initially attended the Lessing-Gymnasium in Wedding and then had problems with the system, but changed schools to more chilled-out areas in Berlin-Mitte at the John-Lennon-Gymnasium, where he completed his Abitur. After his community service, he made his first contact with the film industry. He gained experience in the camera department on set, in internships at the technical rental company Cinelicht and Geyer-Filmlaboratory, worked as a camera assistant and studied cinematography at the HFF “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam Babelsberg, where he graduated as a cameraman in 2013. Benjamin works in documentary and feature film as well as in music videos and commercials. He currently lives in Berlin with his wife and two children.
